Using enrollment and claims data from a national insurer, this retrospective cohort study tested whether patients who enrolled in a consumer-driven health plan (CDHP) that fully replaced a traditional plan became less adherent to medications for chronic conditions compared with those who were continuously enrolled in a traditional managed care plan.
